Oakley Cincinnati Neighborhoods

Oakley is vibrant, lively, yet more affordable than some nearby neighborhoods.  So much to offer including charm, excellent business district, and convenient location.  A mecca for singles, couples, or families of any age.  Oakley borders Pleasant Ridge, Madisonville, Norwood, and Hyde Park.

Oakley Square hosts numerous local shops and is anchored by the historical 20th Century Theatre. The theater was built in 1941 and is a distinctive Oakley landmark with its 72-foot tower rising over the business district. The deteriorating theater was slated for demolition in the early 1990s, but was spared due to its historical significance and is finding a new life as a concert and special events venue.

The Geier Esplanade, commonly known as Oakley Square, was created when two parcels of land were acquired in 1927 and 1932 and were converted into green space. It is situated in the heart of Oakley on Madison Road. Through the generosity of the Geier family, flowers and bulbs are planted each year to beautify this small parcel of land in memory of Mr. Fred Geier and Mr. Philip O. Geier, Sr. Oakley Square hosts numerous events, including Oakley After Hours on the second Friday of every month April – September, 6pm – 10pm where live music, kids entertainment, guest vendors and local businesses all share the spotlight for an evening of great family fun!

There is so much development going on in Oakley right now, both commercial and residential.  The Oakley Community Council (oakleynow.com) works closely with commercial and private residents to keep things moving in a positive direction.
